My Korean Beauty Haul - ibuybeauti

The best time to go nuts on makeup is after a long a stressful period of exams. Although I ordered my makeup on the last week of exams, the items just arrived a few days ago. From my experience with this site it usually takes around 2 weeks for the parcel to get to my front door (which is standard) - and boy was I excited when the postman came! So in this post I'll basically show you guys what I got, I've tried a few things once or twice but I won't be giving my opinion on anything yet since I haven't tested them out sufficient enough.

But **SPOILER ALERT** the makeup cushions are really good! But if there is anything you guys would like to see a review on asap then let me know so I can prioritise that item! ^_^ Let me know if you guys bought anything lately! Beauty Wishlist For July

Hey guys! I haven't updated my beauty wishlist since March... which isn't too bad because then I can save some $$$ and use it for food! HAHA, anyways these days I've been more interested in Korean cosmetics so in this wishlist there will be an absence of western beauty brands (hopefully I'll have a selection of western makeup for my next beauty wishlist update!) so without further ado here are some products I've had my eye on - be sure to tell me what's on your wishlist! ^_^
(going in clockwise direction starting with the setting spray)
  • A'pieu SOS Powder Mist- I tend to have a heavy hand with my powder mainly because I'm always paranoid that my makeup hasn't set well enough which in turns can make my face look too powdery and cakey, so I think this spray can help me get rid of the  powdery-look. But really any spray will work but I just thought this particular spray was interesting because it was specifically made to get rid of any excess powder.
  • TonyMoly Kiss Lover Style M- I've never been a lipstick girl or lip product person but I'm trying to ease my way into it, the colour selection of this range seemed beautiful and the packaging looks really luxe for the price. I would use this product in a sheer way though, I'm not comfortable with wearing an opaque lip colour yet!
  • Etude House Real Powder Cushion- I've seen a few reviews on it and it looked beautiful on. This product is really mattifying which is exactly right up my alley since I'm an oily skin gal, with summer coming up I think this might be quite a useful product in my arsenal. The colour range isn't that great though which is expected of Korean base makeup and from what I've seen the coverage is a solid medium!
  • Etude House 101 Stick Foundation- I've been getting into stick foundations lately and I don't know why, I've never been a big fan of them because I never liked the idea of drawing something on my face. Maybe I'm having some quarter life crisis so my taste in makeup is changing. And I have the Missha foundation stick coming in the mail - shoutout to the boyfriend for getting it for me, so I'm hoping that I'll like that!

♡ Review: Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sunscreen

We all know how important sunscreen is but choosing the right sunscreen isn't easy. I tended to steer away from sunscreen because of the oily residue and the prospect of it clogging my pores. While i was browsing korean cosmetics online, I stumbled upon Etude House's sunscreens and this product seemed promising because it claimed to be oil-free and non-sticky. Although I do enjoy this sunscreen for a number of factors, there are also things that deter me from absolutely loving it.

If you guys have any good sunscreen recommendations then be sure to let me know so I can try them out too!

Where to get it: You can get the sunscreen here, and it retails for $9.58USD

Pros:
  • Extremely light formula - as seen from the picture, it is actually quite runny
  • Dries down to a matte-velvet finish which is great under makeup, I like to use this as a sunscreen/primer in the summer as it makes my makeup last all day and provides a smooth base
  • Has SPF 50 + PA +++
  • Has a pleasant smell, it's a fresh and clean scent
  • You get 55ml of the product so it'll last you for a while
  • Affordable
Cons:

  • Gives me a strong white cast but maybe it's because I put on too much
  • Can emphasise my dry patches
  • I think it clogs my pores a little - when I wear this product for multiple days in a row, my skin starts to feel really clogged and when I take a break from it, my breakouts calmed down
Overall, I will continue to use and finish the product but I won't be using it for consecutive days as I don't want to irritate my skin - it's a nice sunscreen but I won't be repurchasing as there are other sunscreens I much prefer.

Perfect Everyday Palette: Urban Decay Naked 3 Swatches & Review

I think a good and reliable everyday, no-brainer palette is an essential in every makeup stash - whether you're a beginner with makeup or not. With so many palettes out on the makeup market right now, it can be extremely overwhelming to find a good everyday palette. But the palette that I personally think would be a good addition to your arsenal is Urban Decay's Naked 3 - if you're a lover of warm, rose-gold coloured eyeshadows then you've come to the right place!

I think rose-gold eyeshadows can be extremely flattering on so many different eye colours and skin tones, the palette consists of both shimmery and matte formulas, but there is definitely a lot more shimmery shades than matte in this palette.

**left to right: strange, dust, burnout, limit, buzz, trick, nooner, liar, factory, mugshot, dark side, blackheart**

Pigmentation: Since the brand is Urban Decay, the pigmention of the colours are great, the colours for the most part are smooth and true to colour, but "dust" did pick up more chalky than the other colours but still blended well on the eyes. The darker colours can take some layering to make them really intense but that's good for people who tend to put too much and go overboard - it's fool proof! Otherwise for an everyday look, the pigmentation is there and a little goes a long way so this palette will last you years!

Colour combination: If you love rose-coloured shadows then this is the palette for you! The palette has enough light and mid tone colours for your to create an everyday look - and a few choice of darker colours for you to smoke out your makeup for the night time. I just wished there were 1 or 2 more warmer matte shades to chuck into the crease for a 1-2 shadow look. Even though there isn't a black in the palette - layering the darker colours can give you an almost black type of effect.

Packaging: Beautiful rose-gold packaging, compact and durable + comes with a big mirror, good for travelling when you want to bring one palette

Lasting Power: The eyeshadows lasted for a good 5-6 hours on me before creasing and fading on my oily eyelids, but when paired with the urban Decay original primer potion then they last all day with no problem!

Price & Where To Purchase: retails for $83AUD and can be purchased off Mecca
