Products I Want To Use Up (Spring/Summer) 2016

Hello everyone! Recently I've been cleaning up my makeup storage area and I realised that I had WAAAY too many items I just wasn't using up, yet I was still buying more?? I think we all do that, but I think it's time for me to clean up and declutter my collection. I'm going to try to aim to finish these products or at least pan them by the end of summer - which will give me approximately 6 months to work on this project. I'm a slow user of makeup items so this is actually a lot harder than it seems for me.

But here are the products I have chosen for this project!
  1. Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation - Shade Vanilla Clair/Light Vanilla 51 - This is my everyday go-to/university type of foundation. I really like this foundation - its long lasting and foolproof. The reason I want to use this up is because the colour will match me really well in the warmer months and it'll be a easy foundation to use up as the application effort is minimal. I want to start using up some of my foundations (I currently have 8 which is kind of excessive...) so I can buy more !! haha...
  2. Garnier Miracle BB cream in Light/Clair - This used to be the base makeup I wore to school when I was in grade 9/10. I'm not sure if I was just naive and didn't notice this before but recently in the past year I found it hard to wear this bb cream because SOMETIMES it oxidised to be 2-3 shades too dark for me and sometimes it looked perfect? This bb cream used to be my holy grail - it has a nice natural to medium coverage and covered my pores and textures well. But due to the colour even when it doesn't oxidise is too dark for my usual skin tone. So hopefully in the Spring/Summer the colour will match me better!
  3. Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sunscreen - I'm a little iffy about adding this to the project as I think this product breaks me out but I will try it out more in the summertime to conclude my thoughts on it. If it does end up breaking me up I will remove it from the project and give it away and perhaps replace it with something else. The sunscreen gives me a matte-velvety look so it'll be great under makeup for the warmer seasons!
  4. Innisfree No-Sebum Mineral Powder - This is a nice, smoothing and velvety powder. It doesn't really keep me matte but I love the finish it gives - great on the pores. Almost gives your skin a photoshopped appearance but since I don't really reach for loose powders I want to finish this up plus I've had it for about a year so it needs to go asap.
  5. Red Earth Eyeshadow Palette - This palette really lacks in pigmentation when it comes to the shimmery colours - they basically all look the same and they apply really patchy and I REALLY have to dig my brush in it to get product on my eyes. I'm hoping to at least pan 2-3 shades and I'll be happy!!
  6. Nivea Fruity Shine Strawberry Lipbalm - One of my favourite lipbalms for the moisture it provides, gives pretty good colour payoff for a balm as well but I've had it for too long and I have other lipbalms I have to start using up as well so I thought this would be a good starting point! I think I might buy this again but in the colourless version in the future because sometimes I swipe too much of this on and it ends up giving me a pretty medium-full opaque red lip (which I'm not that confident with!)

♡ Review: Brighten your Complexion! It's Skin - Power 10 Formula VC

Who doesn't want a bright, translucent and even complexion?? But it's not always easy to achieve that naturally without a little help... this is why I was curious about the It's Skin line of 'Power 10 Formulas' - especially the one with vitamin C. I purchased this when I did my korean cosmetics beauty haul.

Within this ampoule range, there was A LOT to choose from - so many different ones targeting anti-ageing, dull skin, rough skin, pigmented skin etc. Each ampoule essentially had different vitamins for different purposes but I specifically chose the vitamin C one because I've heard about the miracles of using vitamin C topically on your skin. But of course with any product you should do your own research as well and use sunscreen daily as certain products can make your face more sensitive to the sun.

Now without further rambling ... I've been using this ampoule for a solid month now and I'm back to give you my verdict!

Pros:
  • Smells like oranges which is sooooo nice since I love oranges
  • Light consistency, blends into nothing when it settles into the skin
  • Lightly hydrating so you can wear this under makeup (I only use this at night though) but you will definitely need an additional moisturiser on top if you have drier skin
  • Immediate results the next day (for me at least), my skin was a lot more brightened, even and had a nice glow to it
  • Small compact packaging
  • Affordable $8-$11 AUD

Cons:
  • Has fragrance which can irritate sensitive skin, I'm sensitive to fragrance in my face products but this has not given me any bad reactions
Overall: I really quite liked this product. I was hesitant  to add this into my skincare routine because I'm extremely low maintenance but I'm glad that I gave it a go. It smelt good, absorbed well without leaving any residue and I saw results. I think with continued use I'll get even better and more permanent results. I am definitely going to look into repurchasing this after I use up this bottle but I'm also curious about their other ampoules. This is a product which I can safely recommend you guys to try so give it a go!
