Girls Day - MOTD + Quick Cafe Review

It was great seeing my girls again! They've started uni recently, I don't start for another week yay! It was such a beautiful day in Sydney so we decided to head over to one of the rising cafes in the area, this one is particularly in Cabramatta called "The Usual Cafe", I thought the name was quite unusual - how ironic right? HAHA but quickly here was the makeup I wore:

These are some of my staples, they're my weekend makeup must haves!
If you'd like detailed reviews/demos on any of the products then let me know! :)

The Usual Cafe

The Cafe was really cute and minimalist, the food selection wasn't wide but it had something to suit everyone. The dishes ranged from your pesto salmon salad to a coconut chia seed pudding (two of which were taken in the photos below). They had a lot of selections for drinks though, like HEAPS in comparison to the food. Also, the service was nice, nothing to comment on  - you have to pay and order at the counter and the food came out relatively fast. Overall, its a cute little cafe, a nice play to hang or catch up with your friends, it didn't have any outstanding qualities but it didn't lack in any department either. BUT it may be a little hard to find.

Beauty Wishlist for March

My Korean beauty wishlist! I usually purchase my Korean cosmetics from ibuybeauti;

(front left to right)

  • Etude House Precious Mineral Cushion - Heard it had good coverage, good for oily skin and I just wanted to try a cushion product since they are all the rage in Korea
  • Tony Moly Bunny Mists - What can I say? They're cute *heart shaped eyes*
  • Holika Holika Aqua Petit jelly BB - They say that the consistency is really bouncy and jelly-like? definitely want to try this
  • It's Skin Powder 10 Formula VC Effector - I wanted to try to incorporate more concentrated skincare into my current skin regime

My Western Beauty Wishlist!
I usually go to Mecca, Myers or Sephora for high end makeup.
  • Nars Sheer Glow Foundation - I went a few times to the store to get a colour match but they never had light enough shades ): I still want to try it because even though I have oily skin, I heard it looked really pretty on
  • Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer - Smells like chocolate, will give my pale face some colour - sounds good to me! Heard the formula was really smooth too
  • Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray - I really want to see if a makeup spray can truly help my makeup last longer - anything that can keep my oily skin at bay and keep my makeup from melting off will be a dream come true!
  • Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - Ah, heard so much about this miracle product! Creamy, long lasting with great coverage! I'm a base makeup junkie so I want to see what all the hype was about!

What's currently on your wishlist?

My Current Favourite Cleansers

My first ever post will be dedicated to some of my favourite cleansers of all time. *Please excuse my ratchet nails and awkwardness  HAHA* The cleansers I generally use are affordable and effective and can all be found at Priceline, for less than $15! Just a little background on my skin; I have oily, acne-prone skin with the occasional dry patches and hyper-pigmentation from past acne. So I'm looking for something that can control my oils yet be hydrating enough for my drier parts (which really doesn't occur often but who doesn't like hydrated skin right?!) - and if it can help me with hyper-pigmentation then it's a winner!

So here are some of my favs -

Formula 10.0.6 - Best Face Forward $9.99

This is a great everyday basic cleanser that does what it's meant to do and nothing much more. It has a clear gel consistency and smells really good, I tend to use this in the day time because it's really refreshing but I sometimes use it at night when I want to double cleanse. It takes away minimal makeup days like just some powder foundation and brows. I wouldn't recommend this as a cleanser to remove heavy makeup as it wasn't made for that. This cleanser keeps my skin relative clear and doesn't cause me any problems at all, this is like my 3rd tube... which is saying a lot as I'm constantly itching to try new cleansers! You only need a pea size amount of this cleanser for basic cleansing, so one tube usually last be about 3-5 months depending if I'm using it once or twice a day! yay to savings! This cleanser doesn't really foam much at all unless you use a cleansing face scrubber. (which i will talk about more at the end of the post :) )

I  wouldn't recommend this to people with extremely dry skin though because it can be drying sometimes, but it's nothing a little moisturizer can't solve! Overall, love this cleanser for just some basic facial cleansing.

Aveeno - Positively Radiant Cleanser $13.99

This is one of my more expensive cleansers but at $14, it's not really that bad considering it lasts me about 3-4 months. I tend to use this cleanser seasonally (mainly in winter because of how hydrating it is!). The consistency of this is quite thick but easily moves around the face when you rub it in - at first this cleanser scared me because it had a metallic, shiny look to it - it has like shimmers?

Ah, such bad photo quality but you can kinda see the metallic reflection right? I thought it was some dodgy children's cleanser. But don't be fooled! It was actually extremely hydrating and it visibly brightened and even my skin tone! So I love using this when my skin is acting up and leaving red marks everywhere - it's not like the acne alone wasn't enough!

I often use this in the morning and night time on days where I haven't worn makeup, I don't think its cleansing powers are strong enough to remove makeup well unless you want to double cleanse with it.

I'm really interested to try the other products in this range to see if it was as effective as this one!

Overall, highly recommend this for all skin types, its; brightening, hydrating and firming! Great for a pick me up and the smell is extremely refreshing! A definite rebuy (this is my second bottle) and must have!

Neutrogena - Deep Clean Facial Cleanser $13.99

Definitely a must have for you oily skin girls - I don't recommend this for dry skin beauties unless you want to use it to remove makeup NOT EYE MAKEUP THOUGH, that'll sting and it's not an eye makeup remover HAHA. Out of all three, this is the most drying and effective for cleansing makeup, with double cleansing it takes off my Estee Lauder Double Wear! Which is a pretty intense foundation - my hot showers can't even melt it... no joke. This cleanser has a thicker consistency like the aveeno cleanser and foams well with a cleansing brush otherwise it doesn't foam at all. This also really helped to clear my skin when it was going through an intense, like an EXTREMELY intense acne breakout period a year ago (I'm still clearing up the rest of it), and I didn't understand why until I looked at the ingredients which included salicylic acid.

Thank you to the inventor of salicylic acid for saving my skin time after time again. Overall, a good everyday cleanser for oily skin girls - effective at removing makeup and helped cleared my skin!

Cleansing brush $1

A $1 cleansing scrubber from ebay! I actually bought this for the LOLs because I saw Bubzbeauty using it in one of her videos ages ago and I was curious! But bruh, this takes cleansing to a whole new level, it cleans so much deeper and thoroughly than just using your fingers!

I wouldn't recommend using this on or around active breakouts because it'll hurt ... a lot. Trust. I know.

I use this every single night, whether I have makeup on or not - I use this as a second step after my first cleanse (I usually wear heavy base makeup so my first cleanse is usually a makeup oil or the neutrogena deep cleanser) and it takes everything off and makes your face feel soooooo clean!

Highly recommend this as a supplement to your cleansing because it's cheap and effective!

If you have any questions or cleanser recommendations then feel free to leave them below! Thank you for reading my awkward first ever post! ^_^
