Holy Grail: Estee Lauder Foundation Double Wear + Demo/Swatches

So.. not sure if you guys have read the "upcoming posts" section of my side bar but if you have then you can tell that all the posts that I'm working on are mainly foundation based - I love base makeup, especially foundation! And since I'm such a foundation junkie I'm always trying new things but no matter how many new foundations I try, I always seem to go back to Estee Lauder's Double Wear Stay in Place makeup. It's simply great.

Skin background: oily, acne prone with hyperpigmentation and textures with the occasional dry patches.

What I look for in foundations: a solid medium coverage that I can build up and sheer out, a long lasting foundation (I tend to put makeup on at around 9-10am and don't take it off until 7-12pm), a foundation with minimal touch ups and good oil controls (I have oily skin that gets really oily in the t zone), I prefer natural-satin or soft matte finish makeup, something that won't break me out and is smoothing to the pores and any textures on the skin.

My shade: 2N1 Desert Biege (it's a little dark for me- this is my summer shade when I'm at my absolute darkest, 1W1 bone fits me perfectly for most of the year - it's the shade I'll be picking up after I'm done with my current bottle) I'm an NC15.

Pros:
  • Lasts all day with minimal touchups, usually 1-3 times max and it consists of just blotting off the shine with a tissue paper - the shine isn't disgusting though, it has a nice glow but I just prefer a matte-er look
  • Medium buildable coverage
  • Looks better the longer you wear it
  • It is budge-proof, even hot showers cannot melt this foundation! It's insane
  • This foundation comes in a good colour range (16 shades on the Australian market, I think they offer more shades in the US though)
  • This foundation is surprisingly extremely smoothing on my pores. It can tend to cling to dry patches at first but after it has had time to mesh with your skin, the foundation tends to melt and smooth over any dry areas

Cons:
  • It can feel heavy on the skin at first but after a while the feeling disappears, this goes for the initial application - if you apply too much it can look cakey but give it 30-40mins and it'll start to mix with your natural oils and look really beautiful and flawless on
  • Can emphasise blemishes
  • For me, using a wet sponge emphasises dry patches and textures but looks great with a flat top kabuki brush
Purchase: You can buy this at any department store, I got mine at Myers for $52AUD.

[ My February 2017 Wishlist ]

Hey guys! It has been a while (almost a year) since I've done a monthly wishlist. If you didn't know, my monthly wishlist are products I'm most interested in for the month and will consider purchasing in the future! Depending on the month I may have only exclusively feature Western or Korean products but sometimes I may feature both!

But without further ramblings... also, all the images are from google.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes - Mood Exposure and Luminous Flush [ Find it Here ]

If you guys didn't know, I actually loveeee blushes! Blush is one of those items that can transform how you look and feel instantly. After applying a pretty blush I feel so much more awake and energised, especially after whiting out my face with foundation. I used to be all about the matte blush life but I've grown an appreciated for shimmery/satin blushes. I think I might slightly prefer satin blushes over matte blushes now!

I really want the colours Mood Exposure and Luminous Flush because they look absolutely beautiful. Mood exposure is more of a nude colour that'll be great for any look as it is not an overwhelming colour, while Luminous Flush is brighter, it's a pretty everyday pink with some purple undertones!

Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation - Buff [ Find it Here ]

I recently did a first impressions on the tradition Revlon Colorstay Foundation bottle in the oily/combination skin version and absolutely feel in love with it! It has great medium buildable coverage, the colour buff matches me extremely well and it wears beautifully all day - with minimal fading! I've honestly always been curious about the whipped version so I'm really keen to try it out to see how it compares to the regular Revlon Colorstay.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Lip Oil Gloss - Papa Don't Peach, Peach Fuzz and Peach Please [ Find it here ]

Too faced recently made their Sweet Peach collection permanent and even though some of the other products in the range interest me, nothing is interesting me more than these lip gloss oils! The concept is interesting, and the colours are so pretty! I've heard good reviews on these glosses and how low maintenance they are - and your girl is hella low maintenance with her lip makeup so I thought this might be perfect to use on an everyday basis! Excited to possibly pick these up in the future.

⋆⋆ Tattooing The Brows?! • Yadah's "Quick Tattoo Brow Gel" ⋆⋆

Hello to my fellow girls with scarcely any brows,

Eyebrow tattooing or feathering has recently become quite the trend, who doesn't want perfect eyebrows without the need for cosmetics? But some of us do not want to fork out the price demanded or simply are scared of the thought of pain. So, BB Cosmetic (free international shipping site) was kind enough to send me Yadah's Quick Tattoo Brow Gel to try and review.

8% OFF COUPON CODE: IV1HP05DK1

Claims:
  • It saves you eyebrow application time
  • Natural looking tint on the eyebrows without any fading or smudging
  • Enriched with the extracts of black bean, black berry, Panthenol and Portulaca for hair strengthening
  • Soft gel form that dries up and turns into a soft-peel gel without skin irritation
Instructions:
  • Apply a liberal amount according to your desired shape
  • Dry for at least one hour
  • After drying completely, remove slowly starting from the tail
  • Do not use a cleansing product or apply force to the brows within 24hrs of using the product
It comes in three shades and I am testing out shade #03 Ash Brown.

Application:
** There are lighting changes in the pictures due to sunfall, so I had to compromise**

Pros:

This was quite a easy product to use, and it did not hurt when I peeled the eyebrow gel off - it was actually a satisfying feeling. This tattoo gel conceptually is a convenient product and it DID minimise the effort that went into doing my eyebrows the next day. The images made my eyebrows appear quite stark and dark but it does fade after you wash your face and becomes more natural. Now I'm actually curious about other brow tattoos!

My brows actually lasted for a good 7 days, but the colour started to fade into an orange-y colour after the second day.

Cons:

There are two cons to this product; firstly I think I ripped out some brow hair when I was peeling the gel off and I'm already a girl with hardly any brows so that freaked me out a little. Secondly, you can't tell from the pictures but "ash brown" was actually quite a warm brown. It looked closer to the #02 colour than the #03 (which I tested out). I prefer my brows to me more neutral or ashy.

Also, you are not supposed to touch the brows within 24 hours of using this product but a few hours after I peeled the tattoo off, I cleansed and exfoliated my face because I had a lot of base makeup on and about 80% of the brows came off. I redid my brows again that night and after carefully cleansing my face the next day while avoiding the brow area - I noticed that it still faded a tad. But that helps the tint look more natural and less stark.

♡ Nails Of the Moment: Essie's Prennial Chic And Some Pavlova Pics!

Hey guys! It's been a hot minute since I've painted my nails. Honestly I don't really enjoy painting my nails because I always mess it up by hitting my hand on something or smudging the polish right off while its mid-drying. But thinking about it now, maybe the formula of my nail polishes were bad because they were extremely old. But recently I've picked up a few Essie Nail Polishes and decided to choose this colour "Prennial Chic" as my introductory colour into the world of polishes again.

I've got to say, I'm quite impressed. The colour was opaque in three coats, the polish was smooth and easy to apply and the dry time for me was around 20-30mins (I don't use a top coat) and I like to give my polishes plenty of dry time.

>>>>>>>>>>> We Made Pavlova?? <<<<<<<<<<<

I also made some Pavlova with my boyfriend and I am just too proud of us to not post some pictures of it! My boyfriend likes to bake and cook but me... not so much. I just like to eat HAHA. But we managed to make this Pavlova!! And the best thing is... its actually edible. If you'd like the recipe to the Pavlova we made then just leave a comment below! It was quite an easy procedure, the hardest part was baking it and making sure the temperature was right.
